| Life at USS from 1928-34 was good. We had
5 teachers and approximately 145 students. Everyone knew each other.
Many of the girls wore white middy and navy tunics. The Principal
was Mr. J.E. Burchell, Math - Mr. M.F. White, English - Miss McGuade, Latin
- Miss Isabel Taylor, French & German - Miss Doris Armitage.
Baseball, basketball, and volleyball, as well as hockey were enjoyed competitively. An excellent literary Society was formed with several plays and high - rated debates enjoyed. Out of town students boarded in various homes or drove a horse and buggy to a nearby barn for the day. I met my husband there in the early 30's. Memories:

| I attended U.S.S. from 1939-1945. In 1939 we had five grades (IX to
XIII). There were 46 students in my Gr.IX class, in room 105.
In 1967, I returned to U.S.S. and taught 23yrs until I retired in 1990. Since our family all attended U.S.S. I can sincerely say that I've had a lifetime of association with U.S.S. Those were the days my friends and I'll have to say there were a few days that I thought would never end! However I can truthfully say Thanks for the Memories. See you at the 75th Reunion. |

| My my. Wilda Clark graduated from UHS in 1934, the year I was born.
How the time flies. Now I own the house on Plank Street where she was married.
Good to see so many of the grads communicating. My date is a little misleading. I never did graduate. In 1949 I had the opportunity to get involved in the newspaper business as a Linotype apprentice at the Times-Journal ($6 for a 50-hour week). That's when my education really started. Hope to make it back home for the reunion and have a cold one with all my old buddies. My goal will be to get Harry Hudson to pay or now that Gene More is retired and drawing a big pension maybe he'll cough up as well. When you are living on a fixed income like me you have to count on your friends to come through. The USS page is great and Wilda I may be away from Uxbridge but I still love yah. Cheers. | As I will not be able to attend, I would like to convey my best wishes
for the 75th Reunion and say hello to my 57 to 62 UHS classmates.
In the 50s and 60s, Uxbridge and USS were great places to grow up, to learn and to play. Although, as kids, few of us probably recognized it at the time, we were truly well served by many of the teachers as well as town and recreation leaders of the era. Given the school, the pond, the rink, the ball diamond and Duncans Dairy Bar in combination with the efforts of those people, it may well have been as good as it gets. I currently live in Navan near Ottawa, work at the National Research Council, have two kids and am active in the local over 55 tennis and 10K scenes. Best wishes to a great community for a great weekend. |

that it's been 25 years since I graduated. I will be attending Friday
and Saturday night events and hope to see some old familiar faces (like

went to "In Crowd".) I have convinced Maureen Ryan to attend as well.

| It is hard to beleive that twenty-seven years have passed since graduating Uxbridge S.S. Some of my fondest memories come from my years there. I especially recall the time spent in Mr. Hortons' class. Does anyone recall this famous line? Will music bother anyone? How about listening to Cheech and Chong records in Mr Davies class? Okay, here is my best story. We were in Electrical Shop, having a practical session. Since the radio in my car was electrical, Elgin Irwin and I convinced Mr. Horton that we could gain experience working on it. You guessed it, he let us outside to work on the car, and we were gone for a cruise. While rounding the corner coming back into town on Hwy 47, I decided to go straight onto that gravel road at the entrance to the corner. The car bounced, went air borne, we hit our heads on the roof, and recovered heading straight down that road. Next problem! The motor in the car was now knocking, like someone was hammering it. What to do? Head for the Auto Shop. We caught Mr. Corbett during a spare. He put my car on the hoist, and we discovered the oil pan was dented, which caused the crankshaft to hit it. We had it fixed, and were back to the electrical shop before Mr. Horton knew we were gone! It was a lot of fun. My home now is 1426 Monaghan Circle, Mississauga, Ontario, L5C 1R8. I'd like to hear from any friends. |

I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to seeing all of my old cronies who have been missing in action. I live in Toronto now. I hang around Uxbridge quite a bit, usually with my 12 year old associate and best pal Ryan, so I see a lot of the Uxbridge lifers (not that there's anything wrong with that) but what about the likes of Steve Soltys, the Gloven boys, the Bevan girls girls, any of the 953 Fergusons, the Blackwells, Rodney Barr and MaryJane Gouwelieuxieoeuuiooo, if only to see how they spell it on her name tag. Anyway, in anticipation of seeing everybody, many strange images have come up and since Barb and Ted are still alive, an alarming number are unprintable. There is one thing everybody knows no matter what year you were there: being there and not wanting to be there at all. To times gone but not forgotten…. Well, where to begin? So much has happened to me in the past twelve years. Immediately after graduation I started at York University with a major in Spanish and a minor in French. I got tired of school, so I dropped out in second year to go work in the family business selling vitamins. For a while I simultaneously worked as a professional belly dancer. I travelled Europe and North Africa. Now, I still work with my Mom marketing a correspondence course for the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, for which I am the academic advisor. I also teach belly dance and nutrition at women's circles. I recently bought a lovely home in Cannington and moved in at the end
of January. Currently, I am in the process of adopting a baby girl
from Haiti which should, hopefully, happen by the end of this year (finally

It is great to find USS on the web and in such fine form. Yes I must agree that the valedictorian speech of 1987 was a clear winner in how not to do things but very funny! Remember air bands, the tech crew, lunchtime sock-hops, hangin' out in the gallery overlooking the gym? Remember Mr. G.??? Reviewing the articles about censorship I remembered the dance where one of the teachers came up and dragged the needle across a record You shook me all night long Hmmmmmm Well, thanks to all the great teachers of the school. Is Ms. Trenka still around? This reunion is a fantastic idea! Cheers |

| If I'd known about the reunion sooner I would have scheduled a visit
this year instead of last year. After graduation I moved to Vancouver
and have been here ever since. I have been married for almost 3 years
now (wife=Kristy), no kids just yet, and recently bought a house south
of the city. I'm am currently working as the network administrator
for a restaurant chain (Boston Pizza). I wish I could make it back
for the reunion and I will if at all possible. Otherwise, I'd love
to hear from other grads if you care to fire me some e-mail.

| Hi Everyone! Was just notified of this website by Gary Bayard
via Yahoo. I'm living in California now, just north of San Francisco
and have been here about 11 years. After Uxbridge SS, I went to Western
and then moved to California right after graduation. I'm an editor
now for a publishing company, Black Sparrow Press, in Santa Rosa.
Was married for 11 years but got divorced last year. I haven't seen
the date yet for the reunion. When is it? Maybe I'll fly out.
It's really nice to be able to be in touch like this. I miss my Canadian

My husband, Jamie and myself have been married for 8 years and we have two boys, 6 1/2 years and 4 years old. We are living in Cannington, and we are running our own dairy farm. I am really looking forward to the reunion in June and being able to
