School was finally back in this week, and as much as other students like to deny it, I was happy.  Being off for two weeks was nice, but one can only watch Leave it to Beaver and Camilla Scott so many times.

The teachers' fight is not over yet, as they prepare to go to courts this week.  Green ribbons, symbolizing the dissolution of Bill 160, and support for the teachers were worn by students and faculty alike this week.

The homework is piling up.  To everyone's great dismay, mid term exams were not cancelled, and were held from Thursday of last week to this past Tuesday.  Now it has moved on to esays, essays, essays!  Parents, beware of flaring tempers, and sleepless nights for the next couple of weeks.  Just think: after that, we move on to exams!!!

The OAC Music Class is holding (what we hope to be) our annual solo recitals on Nov. 19.  Performances will begin at 7:30 at the Anglican Church on Toronto Street.  Songs range from Bach, to Handel, to Louis Armstrong, and Gershwin.  A sincere thank you is extended to the church for graciously donating their facility for the evening.  The Music Department's next endeavour will be the Christmas Concert to be held on Dec. 11.

Commencement has been rescheduled to December 18th, with the undergraduate awards assembly being held in the afternoon.  Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Just a quick reminder for those applying to university: applications are due Dec. 1.  Please see guidance if you are (still) having troubles.  College applications are not due until the beginning of February.
