With a round of exams behind us, it's time to take stock of what we've learned. Though derivatives, vectors, and "Zones of Indifference" are all important, we need to keep things in perspective. We need to be able to sum up all that we learned in one quick and dirty sentence. What I learned is that not all drive "thrus" are created equal.
Where to eat? Obviously, when studying for your exams, this is the last issue that is usually considered. It is very important however, and deserves some scrutiny. In Uxbridge, there are 4 drive "thrus". McDonald's, Harvey's/Swiss Chalet/Second Cup, KFC, Tim Horton's, and all have their advantages and disadvantages.
When it comes to doing what they do well, nothing beats KFC. If you love chicken, and I love chicken, nothing beats it. But for most students paying $10 for a lunch is just a bit too much, and that's what a good one costs you here. They even charge for the mayo for your fries!
If what you're looking for is a cheap lunch, with lots of sugar or caffeine, the absolute best is Tim Horton's. They've got everything, from soup to sandwiches to a toasted bagel. AND DON'T FORGET THE DOUGHNUTS!!!! A party pack of Tim Bits is enough for even the most munchie-laden study group, and costs less than $10. A high quality, hot or cold, lunch will cost you less than $4, and it's well worth it.
For the burger and fry seekers, there are now 2 choices: McDonald's and Harvey's. But which gives you the most bang for your over stretched buck? For student card holders, the choice is obvious. Only $2.99 for a McSandwhich (such as Big Mac and Quarter Pounder), fries, and a drink. For everyone else, the cost is fairly comparable. What makes McDonald's the better choice, however, is the quality of the food. Let's face it, Harvey's' fries are awful. Undercooked, under-rsalted, they don't hold a candle to those offered by McDonald's. Not to mention burgers. Harvey's Biggest, the "Ultra Burger", is only 4 ounces. That's the same size as a Quarter Pounder at McDonald's, which is one of their smaller ones!
