February 10th, 1998
By Sabrina Fiege
February may be called the gloomiest month, but the SAC has a lot planned
for the next 18 days.
A large variety of CDs are on sale from the 9th to the 13th of February.
Pick up anything from Wilson Philips to MegaDeath, from Pink Floyd to REM.
Best of all the CDs are only $2, a definite bargain. If you want to sell
CDs to the Student Council we will still pay you $1. Just take them to
the same people who are selling the CDs.
Once again Carnations are on sale from the 9th to the 12th. Ward off
the bad luck of Friday the 13th by buying yourself and your friends a carnation.
Of course, you could also buy one for your boyfriend or girlfriend.
WHAT HAPPENS:
-
Pay $1 to the SAC members in front of the Cafeteria
-
Get a piece of paper, created by award winning artist Daniel Colby
-
Fill in your message and the name and homeroom of the one you are sending
it to
-
Receive a carnation Friday in homeroom.
A special bonus is that there are no gross colours of carnations. The SAC
will give out only pink, white and red carnations.
On the 20th is the next school dance. There are a lot of reasons why
you should pay the measly $6 to go.
-
If you buy 2 tickets (one for you and another for your valentine?) you
will get a special invitation and a candy hook heart to keep or give away.
-
By buying a ticket you can vote for who should be the King and Queen of
the dance. (Yes, whoever wins will get a prize.)
-
It is the only SEMI-FORMAL dance of the year.
-
It is a video dance (bring in the lawn chairs!!)
-
Do you really have anything better to do??
From the 16-20 the student council will be selling candy hooks. All the
proceeds from this sale will go straight towards buying a new Pixel Board.
Please, Please buy some!
