| I think what some idiot did to the satellite is disgusting. Unfortunately,
it would seem to be a trend in our school towards disrespect for property
and person. The new vending machine was attacked. A teacher had profanity
inscribed on their car. Students are destroying their lockers. When will
it end? It's time the administration at this school took some action, instead
of letting what used to be one of the best schools in Durham fall into
the abyss that so many others have. Please, DO SOMETHING!

| I was just wondering why you can't access the left and top parts of
the screen on some computers. Most of it shows up at school, but at my
house you can only get to half of the options, and there doesn't seem to
be a way to scroll down or across to see the rest of them. I think you
should look into fixing this problem, as it means that I can't use the
site unless I'm at school.
Anonymous Webmaster's note: The problem here is your screen resolution. On many computers, the screen is set to 640 pixels across by 480 pixels up and down. Many people have this set this way only because that is how it came when they purchased it. It is a good idea, if you are running a 486 or Pentium system, to turn up your screen resolution. Everything will get smaller, but it's the way the Internet is ment to be run. From Windows 95, this is done by clicking on the background, then properties. Next, choose settings, then find the slide bar under "resolution". Turn it up to at least 800 by 600. We are also modifying the site to support lower resolution displays. Please check back soon. |

| How can anyone condone segregation? Whether it is based on race, culture,
or social status, segregation is WRONG. I don't think that students should
come to class drunk, but shooting them is a little extreme. If they killed
someone or did something really bad, that's a different story. Money for
education is not being spent on another person's drunkeness, so exactly
how can it affect the number of drill presses floating around our fair
halls?

| First of all I would like to compliment the school for finally having
a forum so that we can discuss topics without being face to face. I have
been trying to get on to SC for a few weeks from the school and I don't
know if it is the time that I try, or if it is just some kind of futile
exercise designed to keep us frustrated and hating computers even more.
One more thing. Please stop clogging the lines with useless babble about
the ducks! This is Uxbridge, there are plenty of ponds to swim in. Elgin
pond is just another mudhole. I have swam in better.
Anonymous Webmaster's note: Unfortunately, there are often upwards of 50 students ocnnected to the internet at a time. This, coupled with server problems, has made access to the website from USS a bit frustrating. Please, hang in there! |
Here are Natalie's interesting facts: (forgive me, they're kind of
pathetic)
I just wasted a precious 30 seconds of your life that you'll never, ever get back! Natalie Melnyk |
| It seems to me that prom is coming up. Am I the only one here who finds
that scary? I'll never understand the whole prom phenomenon. A whole bunch
of high school students get dressed up in snazzy outfits, go out to a fancy
spot, with people they don't really like. Very few people actually stay
sober (Does anyone remember last year's prom?) and those who do end up
having to drag the drunk ones home. When we get old we'll all look back
and say Wow, that prom was the best ever! but really it sucked!

| I was advised to visit your site by my nephew who is a student there.
I must admit I was expecting something a little less intense than I found.
I read over a few of the March entries and given a dose of reality that
I'm seldom treated to... High School in the '90s...
There's stuff about being drunk in class and gun searches etc. I suppose my two cents is this. The people (students) that are creating such trouble are your neighbours and they are in other high schools as well. After high school they will still be your neighbours wherever you end up. Summary execution of them or hauling them away may provide a short term solution at USS but any way you cut it you'll end up having to deal with them again and again. Dealing with these people is a long term thing not a classroom thing nor even a highschool thing. Anonymous |
