| Hey what's up U.S.S. welcome all new comers and those who are returning
for their fifth year and sixth year. Just a couple words.
-Jay and
Jarod I hope you enjoy another year!
Bye For now, Dan Banks

| Hi! I think this school is the best! But, it does have a sore point!
I think the whole school should have a makeover! It would be great for
the students to have nice surroundings! Like... maybe some kids could group
up and paint a mural! And maybe decorate the bathrooms! That is for
maybe next summer! So Just a question now! Can we maybe have a few more
dances? That's all!

| I understand how you feel, Paul, about having to buy a student card
in order to play on school teams. The problem is, however, that the
money that goes to helping pay for your uniforms, league registration fees,
first- aid kits etc. comes from grants from the SAC. If the SAC does
not receive money from selling student cards, we can't make these grants.
I suppose it's like a chicken and the egg situation. You don't want
to shell out the $10 to play sports (join clubs and attend dances) but
they couldn't run without the money raised by student card sales.
In addition to supporting your school, the SAC has been working hard over the summer to arrange discounts for card holders at local merchants. For example, students will get 10% off ANYTHING at Rutledge Jewellers. Buy your school ring and you've got your $10 back! There will be a complete list of all businesses who are offering discounts to students in a few days. Check back soon! Thank you for your concerns, Paul. Daniel Wigdor
PS By the way, you were suppose to have a student card to play on any teams for years now... I hope you haven't been cheating? |
| Hey everyone I hope you all had a good summer! I did (kinda) if you
call working all summer fun, then it was! I hope when you get back you
all thank Mr. Watson for the hours that he has put into getting the network
and that nice shinny computer lab up and running... hummm i doubt it!
As for commenting on the new times, well frankly a 9:15 start is cool,
but at for the 3:40 end, that is not much good... I sympathize with anonymus(0)
because (s)he can't get to work in time, but big deal you'll be able to
drive soon. And as for anonymus(1) why must you be
so negative to anonymus(0) ???? And do you REALLY
think that the school board will save more money by sharing buses??? Do
we not do that already with all of the little schools???? I just have these
envisions of people freezing waiting outside for the bus to come, only
to find out that its
stuck in a ditch somewhere in sundercounty..... Did the school board also think about after school activities.. well i guess we can learn to catch a football in the dark ! HA !! While I am on the topic of complaining about nothing in particular (okay i have 15 ins so i could be here a while, but its worth a laugh right????)...I would just like to say that our Empirical Leader Dan, is being somewhat of a tyrant by making anyone who plays a team sport BUY A STUDENT ACTIVITY CARD !!!! That's just not fair ! Its like saying that its a privilege to play for a school team, when in actual fact its the other way around! And as for this threat of not paying out school fees if ANYONE is found not to have one, that's just pathetic! Okay dan, you go ahead and not fund any of the school teams, I am sure just a bout everyone will love you! Hey its great I commend your money saving ideas Mr. Harris er sorry dan, but your going to have to expect some negative feed back just like Mr. Harris gets !!! ha HA! And what's with this "NO" initiation thing ???? Its no wonder that half the school is made up of little pukes that have zeRo respect for elders.... thats me i am an elder now.... take they guys who did the satellite dish, what a bunch of morons, "hey beavis...hu hu ... lets go wreck something???" I mean what were they thinking... I'll tel you what they were not thinking !!! No respect I tell you !! So if we bring back in the initiation rule, it will serve as a kind of... axe i suppose to hold over there heads, and iron hand with which to rule! It doesn't have to be bad or anything, in fact we could make a fun day of it! Yeah we could all make friends or something ! Anyway going completely off topic, what's with people leaving mail and signing anonymous ??? What you are too afraid that Big Brother or some computer geek is going to hunt you down and find you out?????? I mean its not like your telling us your families worst kept secret about uncle fred and the cow or something...oops i have said too much... okay gotta go, see you all in school (if this is printed, then miracles

| In response to the entry of August 26th, I have
little sympathy for your considering 9:00 to be a "rounder number".
If the board can save some money by sharing busses, then I'm willing to
have a shorter lunch. Besides, by making it impossible for lunchtime
classes, clubs can only benefit. The OAC's who run the clubs were
often unable to do so last year due to lunchtime classes, now they will
be able to.

| I also am confused with the new times for school. I was recently
making my availability for work and had to turn down a lot of hours since
the shifts start at 4pm. I cannot get there in 20 minutes on my bike
and be ready to work. It is nice to know that I can sleep in 7 days
a week instead of the average 1 but 9am would have been a nice round number
to remember. Also, what will happen to lunch hour clubs? I
am a member of the karate club at school and we need at least an hour of
training plus time to eat and change. What do we do now? Maybe
if there were reliable late buses then we could practice after school but
people don't want to miss their last chance of getting home for dinner.
That's all i have to say for now.

| I just read Caleb Howard's letter. Wow!!!!
Those are the kind of words I like to read. Great thoughts and a
good sense of life experience. Nice to see another one of Richard
Watson's students showing signs of wisdom and success in life. Best
of life to you Caleb and thanks for letting me have a glimpse of you.

| Hi! It's <censored> here! I'm writing this letter to express my
feelings towards the fact that our classes start at 9:15 now and end at
3:40. The fact that they start at 9:15 is really great because it gives
me that extra 1/2 hour to put my make-up on and to find the perfect thing
to wear but because school ends at 3"40, my social life will be limited
by a whole 1/2 hour! Our lunch has been shortened to only 59 minutes! This
totally limits my time to talk to all the hot guys in the parking lot now!
I'm really disappointed and I want to know if anyone else feels the same
as me.

| You mean I gotta fill all this space? No, you've gotta be kidding.

| Hello. I'm Caleb, and I graduated from U.S.S. in September 1985.
I'm actually poking around on the web instead of doing the work I should
be, and I found this excellent connection with a former life. Thanks
to the webmasters for providing it.
I also wanted to thank the staff of U.S.S. I'm having a hell of
a good time with my life, and it is completely due to my getting a good
education, starting with a superlative high school. I wasn't the
most studious of students, but I did learn that knowledge is power, and
there's a book to teach everything. I learned that it is possible
to get a degree by cramming, rather than by studying all term. It's
the more painful way, but it worked for me. It might not work for
everybody, because it requires 72 hours stretches without sleep at times
- some people get sick doing this. It's probably better to study
all term, but I don't know. It actually helped to prepare me for a high
paying job in digital entertainment production, where the ability to
So, if you're looking for some really useful advice *Never* drink and
drive - I know a lot of dead people, and that certainly sucks. Always
question everything and everyone who claims to have authority. Think
for yourself. Truth is relative. All opinions are based on life experiences.
You are wrong, *and* you are right - so is everyone else, too. (This may
not always appear to be true, but it certainly helps to get along).
Many disagreements come down to semantics. Keep all textbooks after
the course is over - you'll never remember all that stuff you were supposed
to learn, but you don't need to if you can look it up. You
can have anything you want - that's easy. Deciding what your heart
truly desires is a life's work, however.
I used to live a half a block from U.S.S. and now I live in L.A. Funny thing, that. ...or something like that. -caleb P.S. cjh@sqla.com (like you care - as if. -)
